Hi, I'm Dan.
Photography is an extension of my love for life.
It started in the water — documenting surf students having the time of their lives. Catching the joy mid-air, the focus before a wave, the pure aliveness of someone doing something they love. It was the perfect training ground. People in motion, light changing by the second, authenticity impossible to fake.
That foundation shaped everything. It taught me to move quietly, read a moment before it happens, and find the beauty that's already there rather than trying to manufacture it. The ocean has a way of stripping everything back to what's real — and that's exactly the energy I bring to every shoot.
The environment, the light, the person in front of me — when those three things come together honestly, something genuinely beautiful happens.

Passion
I have lived in the beautiful northern rivers of NSW for the past 15 years and have a separate passion for capturing moving moments in nature and animal portraiture.

Pleasure
Due to my practices appreciating simple pleasures and bathing in silence and stillness, I enjoy creating space for my models to feel completely comfortable and able radiate their natural beauty.

Simplicity
Just like with my photography, I enjoy the simpler things in life... being at home with family, out and about with friends, good food, and inspirational natural environments.

I love nature, so if we’re outdoors for a photoshoot I will get you into the environment in the best possible light and scenery, to help to bring out your best self, distract you from the camera and most importantly, to enjoy the whole experience.

Photography gratitude
Back in 2012 it was one of my jobs to capture my childhood hero, Kelly Slater in the press room with his 11th World Title trophy for the Association of Surfing Professions (ASP, now the WSL) and world media organisations.
Naturally, after getting the hero shot, I asked Kelly something like "Can I get a shot with you please?". After he gave the go ahead, I flung my camera to the nearest photographer, put my arm around Kelly for the shot and then stumbled out of that room with jelly legs! I am always grateful for the amazing moments that photography creates, big or small.
